Giorno dopo giorno sento il tuo comando con l'orecchio del corpo di non giurare assolutamente né per le cose della terra, né per il cielo. Quanto a me, chiudendo le orecchie dell'anima, non vi lascio entrare la Parola; e mi comporto in modo opposto, disobbedisco al Comandamento. (…) Ma Tu che hai dato come strumento della parola il pensiero e la lingua, soffio etereo, aprimi la bocca col tuo Spirito, riempila della benedizione spirituale, affinché io parli della Legge divina, della Buona Novella del Nuovo Testamento, della sapienza della teoria e del mistero della pratica. Allontana da me la parola che divide, il blasfemo imperdonabile, e il lamento con la calunnia, il mormorio con la maldicenza. L'inganno al fratello, il tradimento del perfido, il giuramento dello spergiuro, la menzogna propria del Maligno; (…) la loquacità diabolica, e l'arroganza del presuntuoso; in generale tutte quelle parole che, una volta pronunciate, sono rimpiante. E dammi il verbo, Tu, Verbo incarnato, per parlare sempre col tuo verbo, per darlo come grazia a chi mi ascolta, per l'edificazione dell'anima distrutta.

Le origini medioevali della chiesa di Cazzola sono ancora visibili nella struttura architettonica della parte absidale esterna, a conci regolari e con archetti ciechi a decoro della fascia terminale. Le prime testimonianze inerenti la presenza di un edificio sacro risalgono al 1230. La chiesa è infatti  ricordata tra le cappelle del pievato di Traversetolo nel Capitulum Decimarum Omnium Ecclesiarum del 1230. Ancora nelle decime del 1299 viene...
